Words From My Mother
For my mother’s birthday I hand lettered a series of quotes from birthday cards and e-mails she’s sent me over the years. I placed the text over images of my hometown I took on recent visits.
Sweet & Sour
Months ago I started a project where I would hand letter a series of bitter quotes with candy. I made it through 2 finished products before I realized I’d have to buy a lot more candy to keep it interesting, so this is what I have to show for it. This project did not make it into the portfolio as I don’t consider it completely finished.
My media for this project included marshmallows, frootloops, candy fruit, sour rings, cotton candy and more on stonehenge colour paper. Photographed with my Canon Rebel XS.
Body Insecurities
A personal project exploring the constant bombardment of beauty messages women receive throughout their lives. No insecurity is too small, from the thickness of ankles, dull hair colour, all the way to armpit fat and hairy toes.
