Tómame Como Soy

My exhibition project during a month-long artist residency in January 2023 with Estudio Abierto in Oaxaca, Mexico, “Tómame Como Soy” tries to capture the fleeting moments of online dating as you scroll through a sea of infinite faces that are eagerly trying to capture your attention. The results can be predictable yet unexpected; forgettable yet memorable.

This project entailed painting  5 portraits over 5 days on a gesso’d roll of kraft paper. There was an additional element of risk in its execution, as any major mistakes that might occur in one portrait would ultimately jeopardize the entire project. 

This exhibition is a continuation of my ongoing Take Me As I Am series, with subjects that were locally ‘curated’.
